Whats going on yall!
Yea, my bad ive been gone for some days, ive been designing websites, hanging out, and basically enjoying my weekend, but my weekend seemed a bit longer than expected, lol, but no more excuses, lets carry on..
So yea... last time we spoke, Kanye didnt put out his gospel album "Jesus Is King".. but apparently, shortly after my post, he did the unthinkable thing and put it out, lol. I had all weekend to sit with it and this is my review..
For a Gospel album, ill give it a 9/10.. always good to give out a positive message, once in awhile its good to hear muzikk without all the cursing, gun bars, dope deals, drug use, and womanizing.. He happened to pull of the unimaginable thing of getting the Clipse back together on a song! Pusha T and Malice havnt been on a song together in decades due to Malice becoming super religious. That never stopped Pusha T, he happens to be the president over at G.O.O.D music, and still a recording artist. The beats were decent (again, for a gospel album), and it is what it is. Kanye fans need to lower they expectations on this project, as Ye isnt being an asshole on this either (or rapping about having asshole bleach on his T-shirt). Hes rapping about the lord Jesus Christ, appealing mostly to Christians/Catholics. So for his target demographic, ill give it a solid 9/10.
What i dont appreciate, to be honest with you, is the backlash.. No, not the backlash of the album being late (like his last 3 projects), nor the backlash of him being a Trump supporter (which i believe he never mentioned it once), but the backlash of him praising Jesus. Like, since when do we make fun of God?? I understand this is a new age, these new peoples dont believe in religion or any type of higher supreme power, which is cool, i dont bash atheists, but i also dont believe its cool to bash someone who believes in religion.. I dont care if you're christian, Muslim, or Jewish, you shouldn't shame someone cause they follow a certain type of belief. Arent we in a tolerant time where you need to accept peoples beliefs, opinions, body types, gender, age, creed, or race? Why are some people (those same people) quick to shame him cause of his religious belief? seems like there is a double standard here.
Final thought here cause im not trying to make this a war thing, but for its target demographic, solid project. If you rock wit Ye, rock with it. If you dont, then you dont, but lets not bash a man who is singing/ rapping about positivity, remember how it felt when you was shamed on something? Yea, it doesn't feel good the other way around either.
Peace and Love people!
